About this vessel
Marten 72' KUUJJUAQ is a high-performance racer-cruiser designed by Reichel/Pugh and built by Yachting Developments in New Zealand. The yacht underwent a total refit and rating optimization at Escale Technique in France in 2021/22.
Built with advanced materials such as carbon fiber pre-preg with Nomex and Corecellfoam, it offers a lightweight yet robust structure. The yacht features a flexi teak-laid cockpit and seating, with all visible surfaces finished in composite, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship. Equipped with fully hydraulic deck and rig controls, KUUJJUAQ is optimized for short-handed or even single-handed sailing. The hydraulic systems can be operated via remote control, allowing for ease of movement around the deck. This design makes the yacht suitable for both competitive offshore and inshore racing, as well as comfortable cruising or day sailing.
The yacht was originally designed to compete in the Transpac Race, optimized for downwind performance and reduced crew requirements. It is a true pleasure to sail, offering precision steering so effortless you can guide it with just two fingers. Its most recent racing entries were the Giraglia Race in 2023 and 2024, showcasing its enduring performance and competitive spirit.
