Overview
About this vessel
Launched in 2009, Manuriki is a serious Bluewater cruiser with a stunning interior fit out offering luxuries such as a front loading washing machine, watermaker, hot water system, upright fridge and a separate shower. The vessel has spent the 2023 South Pacific cruising season sailing from Gold Coast, Australia to New Caledonia and Vanuatu before crossing over into Indonesia. The previous owner lived on the vessel full time, updating almost all systems. The current owner has owned the boat for 2 years and a change in circumstances has prompted the sale.
This Australian registered, centre cockpit, custom built steel yacht was built to a design by the late Cecil E. Boden. The vessel was built using 5mm welded mild steel plate with 5mm plate transverse framing and 38/10mm flat bar extruded steel longitudinal stiffeners or stringers. Some round bar has been used at the chine logs and heavier plate in way of the keel and stem. It is a displacement hull with a box keel and hard chine and designed to be powered by a single auxiliary diesel engine.
Stepping inside, the interior boasts a tasteful mix of traditional timber trims and clean white surfaces. With plenty of natural light, it has a warm and welcoming ambience. The general arrangement comprises a large anchor locker with storage, forward bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin separated from the saloon. The centre saloon has a convertible double settee to port and a single day settee to starboard. Steps lead up to the galley where the starboard side is fitted with a Tudor Maxie two burner LP gas stove and oven set in gimbals, and stainless steel sink and the port side a Dometic 12V 140L fridge/freezer. The galley is well equipped with plenty of bench space. Aft of the Galley you will find a single berth on the starboard side and on the port side a companion way leading to a private double berth cabin which is also accessed from an aft hatch in the cockpit. The galley stove is plumbed to a pair of 8.5kg storage gas bottles mounted externally at the stern rail. Closing valves are fitted above the deck penetrations. A Weber bbq is mounted on the starboard aft rail and plumbed into the same supply line with a closing valve above the deck. The transom has a hinged swim platform made of Teak timber grate supported with short link stainless steel chain. A hinged, telescopic stainless steel boarding ladder is fitted to the swim platform.
On deck, the centre cockpit is a safe space to relax, enjoy a meal and easily manage the vessel short handed. The mainsail is in a boom bag with lazy jacks with all controls running back to the cockpit, and the electric anchor winch can be controlled from the helm.
The steering is controlled by a chain driven from the wheel at the Canon pedestal to a hydraulic pump under the cockpit sole to a single hydraulic ram driving the tiller arm, which is accessed under the double berth in the after cabin. A 12v solenoid provides feedback to the rudder angle indicator at the helm and autopilot. A 12v slave pump is controlled by the autopilot as a secondary steering control system.
Manuriki's electrical system is powered by a very efficient solar system and alternator. Almost all electrics and electronics have been recently updated with a new battery and electrical installation occurring in 2023 to power the recently installed new watermaker straight from the solar supply. The vessel is ready for your next adventure.
