Design Philosophy

The 56 Motor Sailer is a unique synthesis of two boating worlds: the efficiency and steadiness of sail power combined with the robust functionality of a trawler. The inclusion of a modest sail area, complemented by the highly adaptable controllable-pitch propeller, enhances fuel efficiency and stabilises the vessel in rough seas.

A Fusion of Sailing and Trawler Features

Embracing its hybrid nature, the vessel features a forward sailing cockpit, complete with a helm station and controls for powered winches and roller-furling sails. This sailing cockpit is seamlessly integrated alongside a trawler-style saloon and wheelhouse, creating a harmonious space for relaxation and navigation. A spacious aft deck rounds out the vessel's trawler-inspired touches.

Luxurious Exterior Features

One of the highlights of the Nordhavn 56 Motor Sailer is its aft swim platform, which doubles as a dinghy dock. Accessible through a transom door, this area leads to the covered aft cockpit, featuring varnished teak accents that exude sophistication. Here, a BBQ/refrigerator/sink console is set atop a gorgeous teak deck, making alfresco dining and entertaining a delight.

Interior Elegance and Comfort

Upon entering the saloon from the cockpit, guests are welcomed into an inviting space marked by refined design and panoramic views. The starboard side boasts a U-shaped built-in settee with a fixed table, perfect for gatherings. Opposite, the port side features a straight settee with storage, accompanied by a 40" Samsung LED TV mounted on an Artix lift for entertainment.

The saloon transitions seamlessly into the pilothouse, which features a single helm chair and a large chart table for navigation purposes. Smartly equipped panels display navigation and instrumentation controls, and port and starboard pilothouse doors provide direct access to the foredeck and forward sailing cockpit.

Forward Sailing Cockpit and Deck Access

The forward deck is easily navigable on either side of the mast and leads to the bow, where functional elements, such as the chain locker and sail locker, can be accessed via a forward hatch. Behind the mast lies the elegant sailing cockpit, complete with seating that surrounds the steering binnacle—a space designed for both practicality and leisure.
