Luna Storm is a well-maintained 2009 Schionning Oceanic 373 performance cruising catamaran, professionally built by RMK Marine in Victoria. With only two owners since new, she has cruised extensively throughout Australia, the South Pacific and Asia, establishing herself as a proven bluewater cruising platform.
Lightweight GRP balsa-core construction, daggerboards and a displacement of approximately 6,900kg give Luna Storm an appealing balance of performance and cruising practicality. Her shallow 0.80m draft provides excellent access to anchorages, while the central helm and hardtop with sliding helm hatch create a practical setup for longer passages.
A significant programme of upgrades was completed in 2020, including a full exterior repaint, Coppercoat antifouling and extensive new electronics. Her navigation package features a Raymarine Axiom chartplotter, Evolution autopilot, Raymarine depth and wind instrumentation, AIS, Icom VHF and Icom 803 SSB with Pactor modem.
Power is provided by twin Yanmar 3YM20 21hp diesels with SD20 saildrives and Gori two-blade folding propellers. The engines have approximately 3,149 hours each and have seen very light use since the yacht was taken out of the water in late 2022.
Her cruising credentials are strengthened by standing rigging replaced in October 2022, together with a 2022 gennaker, furling genoa, fully battened mainsail and an as-new storm jib. Eight two-speed Arco Hutton winches and a bowsprit complete a versatile sailing package.
Below deck, Luna Storm offers a practical three-cabin layout with full standing headroom throughout, including two queen berths and one double. The galley features a new 130L refrigerator, separate 40L cockpit freezer, SMEV gas stove and oven, while nine Sirocco fans provide excellent ventilation throughout the yacht.
For extended cruising, she is equipped with a Spectra 22L/hr watermaker, solar panels, Air Breeze wind generator and 600Ah AGM house battery bank. Ground tackle includes a 27kg Manson Supreme anchor with 80 metres of chain, while a 2.9m Hypalon RIB with Tohatsu 9.8hp outboard provides transport ashore.
Currently lying in Mindarie Marina, Western Australia, with Australian tax paid, Luna Storm combines proven offshore experience, shallow-water versatility and substantial recent upgrades in a manageable performance cruising catamaran.
