RM Yachts RM 1200

The RM 1200 is the ideal sailing yacht for fast cruising. Its twin-keel configuration allows easy beaching in tidal harbours and access to anchorages inaccessible to many sailing yachts. Designed by Marc Lombard and built in epoxy plywood by Fora Marine, this model is recognised for its robustness and excellent performance under sail.

A major refit in 2023 included repainting the topsides, renovation of interior varnish, a new mainsail, new main mooring line, and replacement of the saildrive. The standing rigging was also replaced in 2023.

The yacht is equipped with a NKE electronics package including autopilot, MaxSea plotter with AIS transceiver, and a PC and screen at the chart table. Solar panels and a hydrogenerator provide power, with a watermaker aboard for freshwater autonomy. A rigid bimini protects the cockpit.

Below decks, the forward cabin features a double berth (1.4 × 2.0 m) with anti-roll canvas. The aft cabin has a double berth (1.35 × 2.00 m). The saloon offers two sea berths (0.6 × 2.20 m) and two settees with anti-roll canvas. An additional berth with anti-roll canvas is provided in the engine room. The yacht carries full offshore safety equipment including a liferaft (2020), lifelines, and inflatable jackets.

This RM 1200 is ready to sail, well maintained, and equipped for demanding passages. Complete maintenance records are available, and recent work makes it a reliable and capable vessel for extended cruising.
