About the MC 38

The MC38 took high performance One Design yacht racing to a new level. Designed by four-time America's Cup designer Harry Dunning, the MC38 delivers high performance racing in a One Design Class. Designed for international, inter-state or inter-club racing, the MC38 has a removable carbon keel-fin for ease of transport.

McConaghy build and finish quality ensure strong, fast and identical boats for maximum racing, without the need for maximum crew. The hull, as you'd expect of a 3,200kg 38-footer, is of carbon/E-glass, and CoreCell composite.

Strict One Design Class means no arms race. The class is Class Association managed and Owner controlled for longevity of the class, enabling universal racing for mixed fleet, regatta, club and twilight racing. The boat features a carbon boat with E glass and foam core, carbon mast and boom, autoclaved carbon foils including carbon keel fin, and an autoclaved carbon bow pole. The boat was engineered by America's Cup engineers SDK (Alinghi) and has mast design by America's Cup mast engineer Feddersen design (Alinghi). It features PBO Composite rigging, CNC Female tooling with elevated temperature post-curing, McConaghy carbon tiller steering or dual carbon steering wheel option, and Harken deck hardware as standard. It is specifically designed for ease of road transport.
