Grand Banks 72 Aleutian

DASH was designed, built, and maintained to create the ultimate owner-operated offshore-capable cruising vessel. The vessel is a true LOA of 77' 4" and you can feel this size when you are onboard. Twin Caterpillar C-18 A-cert A-rated engines with 1150hp each give DASH the ability to top twenty knots if weather or schedule demands, but she also has the fuel efficiency to complete an offshore run from Newport RI to Palm Beach, FL non-stop in 77 hours.

This is not a production-level GB 72. Only the very top-level rated craftsmen were let onboard to execute their various tasks. The electricians, plumbers, carpenters and varnishers: only the very best craftsmen in the factory were allowed to become part of this build. That same exacting standard has been brought to the maintenance program, with a nearly unattainable level of attention to detail. All systems onboard are currently in top shape.

Every aspect of DASH's layout was custom designed to maximize efficiency and use of space to translate into absolute luxury within the 72 foot size envelope. The master has a king-size berth with his and hers heads connected by a full-size shower with 60-PSI water pressure. The salon boasts a lovely formal dining table layout. The pilothouse has a gourmet chef's galley and a rider bench with fold-out table for friends, family or crew to enjoy the longer runs. The lower station is a completely viable station to run from at any speed, including docking. The flybridge boasts a top-of-the-line new enclosure elevating this space onboard and also has twin grills, additional icemaker and a very open social seating layout. There is a large captain's quarters with private access for deliveries and longer runs which occasionally require assistance; this space doubles as storage.

DASH has brought her owners all through the far Bahamas and New England. She is currently berthed in Newport, Rhode Island. DASH was designed to be easily run as an owner-operator vessel but also has space for captain/crew assistance; enough space for support but easily managed by two people.
