An 8.90 m Jeanneau Merry Fisher 895 with twin Mercury 200hp outboards showing 112 hours, air conditioning in the saloon and both cabins that runs off the lithium, Victron and solar power system, so you can stay on the hook for days in comfort — antifouled, serviced and polished in September 2026. AU $289,000, lying Brisbane Water on the NSW Central Coast.
The Merry Fisher 895 is Jeanneau's big-selling family wheelhouse cruiser: a boat that gets a family away for a weekend, carries ten for a day on the water, and runs on outboards so servicing is simple and the transom stays open for swimming. This 2020 boat is the one to look at if you want an 895 without the usual list of jobs, because the owner has already done them. In September 2026 the engines were serviced, the hull antifouled, the gelcoat touched up and the whole boat cut and polished.
The cockpit has a lounge around a table at the transom under a bimini, with a canvas and mesh enclosure for cool evenings, and the swim platforms either side of the engines are finished in teak-style decking. A Lewmar windlass with control at the helm handles the plough anchor and chain, so anchoring is a one-person job. Solar panels sit on the hardtop, out of the way.
Inside, the wheelhouse is the reason people buy this boat. The helm carries a Garmin chartplotter with sounder, Mercury digital throttle and shift and a bolster helm seat, with glass all round. Opposite is a saloon table with facing seats, and the galley runs down the starboard side with a twin gas hob, sink, fridge with freezer shelf, microwave, a cutlery drawer, cupboards and a wine rack built into a drawer.
Forward is the owner's cabin with a V-berth, and under the saloon is a second cabin with a double berth, giving five berths plus one with the saloon conversion. Both cabins and the saloon are air conditioned, and because the air conditioning runs off the lithium bank through the inverter, that includes nights at anchor, which turns a January night on Brisbane Water from an endurance test into a good sleep. The bathroom is enclosed, with a marine toilet, basin and shower, and there is hot water. A TV with DVD player is fitted in the main cabin.
Most 895s are tied to shore power by the second night. This one is not. A lithium house bank, Victron Energy battery monitoring and power management, inverters and solar charging mean the air conditioning, fridge, lights and electronics run at anchor without a generator or shore power, while the sun puts charge back during the day. The Victron display tells you exactly where you stand, so you plan the weekend around the weather rather than the battery.
Twin Mercury V6 200hp outboards with DTS controls give the security of two engines offshore and only 112 hours on each. Hydraulic steering keeps the helm light, the bow thruster takes the stress out of a marina berth, and the 200 L fuel tank covers a long day on the water or the run from the Central Coast to Pittwater and back.
The recent work on the boat:
Antifoul — September 2026
Engine service — September 2026
Gelcoat repairs — September 2026
Full cut and polish and detailing — September 2026
New spark plugs — September 2025
Port engine ignition coil replaced — February 2025
Merry Fisher 895s are not hard to find, but 2020 boats with 112 hours, this power system and the servicing already done are. If you are comparing a Beneteau Antares 9, a Quicksilver 905 Pilothouse or another 895, this is the one where the air conditioning, the lithium bank that runs it and the solar are already fitted and paid for, and the first job on your list is deciding where to go.
How many hours are on the engines? 112 hours on each of the twin Mercury V6 200hp outboards, with a full engine service in September 2026.
How many people does it carry, and how many does it sleep? It is rated for ten people. There are two cabins, a forward V-berth and an aft double, giving five berths plus one with the saloon table converted.
Does it have air conditioning? Yes, in both cabins and the saloon, and it runs off the lithium battery bank through the inverter, so it works at anchor as well as on shore power.
Can it stay out overnight without shore power? Yes. A lithium battery system with Victron Energy monitoring and power management, inverters and solar charging runs the boat at anchor, including the air conditioning, and recharges during the day.
Where can I inspect it? The boat is afloat on Brisbane Water at Gosford on the NSW Central Coast, about an hour north of Sydney.
