A 10.67 m Italian-built Mar.Co Maxi-RIB with twin Mercury 350hp outboards, 49-knot performance, seating for ten around the table and a legal capacity of 16, sold with a full water-sports and entertaining package - AU $499,000, lying Northbridge, Sydney.
This is not a boat to admire from the dock. The Mar.Co 35 R-Evolution is the Italian builder's flagship Maxi-RIB, and this one has been used by its owner all year round: family days, long lunches with friends, kingfish, shark and ray fishing, whale watching, snorkelling, underwater scooters, and days following the Sydney to Hobart start and SailGP racing on Sydney Harbour. It adapts to whatever the day turns into.
The open Italian layout is the point of this boat. Ten adults sit around the teak-topped electric telescopic dining table in the aft cockpit, and the legal carrying capacity is 16. Forward there is a day bed on the bow; aft there is a larger day bed for stretching out between swims. Underfoot is teak, freshly oiled. Overhead is a hard T-top with a sun canopy and an eight-speaker sound system built into it.
The driver bench houses the galley: a 70 L top-loading electric fridge, a sink with drain and a bin, backed up by a second fridge and a wine and champagne cooler. There is a proper bathroom with a WC, sink and tap, plus three showers including one at the transom, and a swim platform off the back. Console and seating covers are included, and there is a surprising amount of storage for a RIB.
Twin Mercury F350 six-cylinder outboards give 700hp combined, with 230 and 233 hours showing. Top speed is 49.1 knots; at a 26-knot cruise she burns 64 L/h, which from the 750 L tank gives a range of up to 305 nautical miles. That is the performance and fuel capacity to run the coast, not just the harbour.
The hull was specifically strengthened during manufacture for harsh chop and open-ocean conditions and carries Cat-B offshore certification. The elevated bow keeps the ride dry, stable and predictable, and the foredeck is designed to be used safely at speed, even in waves. Seven separate tube chambers, twin Garmin chartplotter screens, VHF radio, an electric winch with a 10 kg stainless steel anchor on 50 m of chain, and an automatic bilge pump complete the picture.
The owner is handing over the boat with everything needed to use it from the first weekend:
The boat has been prepared for sale rather than simply listed. The engines have just been serviced, the teak has been freshly oiled and the boat has been professionally detailed. She is ready to be used immediately.
Before buying, the owner compared 17 leading RIB brands and sea-trialled the contenders. The Mar.Co stood out as the most capable and usable boat in real-world conditions rather than calm-water brochures. If you are considering a Nuova Jolly Prince 38, Pirelli 35, SACS Strider 11, Capelli Tempest 1000 WA or Lomac GranTurismo 11.0, this is the one to see first. Sixteen-person capacity, 49 knots, a bathroom and three showers, and a boat that is as happy with a fishing rod as it is with a champagne glass. Inspections are by appointment on Sydney's Middle Harbour.
