We are proud to present Pauline to the market, a highly specified Moody DS48 in the three-cabin owner's configuration, featuring a generous forward owner's suite with island berth, a port guest cabin and a versatile starboard aft cabin with twin berths that convert to a large double. The DS48 combines the space, panoramic visibility and onboard comfort often associated with a catamaran with the sailing characteristics and offshore capability of a true bluewater monohull.
Often affectionately described as a "Monomaran", Pauline offers exceptional internal volume and near 360-degree panoramic views from her raised deck saloon, creating a bright open living space while preserving the sailing feel, balance and offshore capability of a true cruising monohull.
One of her defining features is the fully operational internal helm with integrated Raymarine navigation, autopilot and SEA.AI thermal camera system. This allows the yacht to be monitored and controlled from inside in poor weather, darkness or reduced visibility, resulting in a much more comfortable way to undertake longer passages.
Pauline has been designed to make sailing genuinely enjoyable for a couple or even a single experienced sailor. The self-tacking jib makes manoeuvring through harbours and coastal waters remarkably simple, while the electrically operated jib furler, overlapping genoa furler and in-mast furling mainsail minimise physical effort. Her upgraded Seldén keel-stepped mast, triple-spreader rig, Quantum AC5 sail package and 135% overlapping genoa give Pauline genuine sailing performance to match her impressive cruising comfort and accommodation. The upgraded 150hp Yanmar provides considerably more reserve power than the standard installation, particularly valuable when dealing with strong currents, changing weather or close-quarters manoeuvring.
Docking is equally straightforward. Bow and retractable stern thrusters provide excellent control, while the integrated hold function can actively counter wind and current while lines are prepared. Pauline can therefore be brought into a berth slowly and deliberately without relying on momentum to maintain control, making a yacht approaching 50 feet remarkably manageable when sailing short-handed.
Pauline was specified for genuine extended cruising. A substantial lithium battery bank, solar charging, Fischer Panda generator and high-output watermaker provide impressive independence away from marinas, while reverse-cycle air conditioning and extensive refrigeration further enhance life on board.
