The Van de Stadt Samoa 48 is considered by experts to be one of the world's most seaworthy and comfortable yacht designs. The hull, deck and lead filled keel are all finished and the vessel is now ready for the final stages of fitout.

This superb vessel is now offered for sale due to the passing of the owner and includes virtually all equipment required to finish her. Constructed by the renowned master shipwright Jack Hoffland in Western Australia. Round chine high grade Australian corten steel. Coded welding to full commercial charter standard.

This beautiful yacht now seeks a new owner to undertake the painting and internal fitout. Options are completely open for a new owner for a custom internal layout to suit them, owners delux version or multi cabin charter layout.

The Van de Stadt Samoa 48 represents the pinnacle of round chine metal construction using radius line design. Conceived by Van de Stadt Design, one of the most influential and highly regarded naval architects in the world. The deep vee hull design makes this design exceptionally comfortable and sea kindly. Very high ballast ratios with around 6 tons of lead in the keel makes the Samoa one of the stiffest and most powerful mono hull cruising yachts in the world. Many have completed multiple circumnavigations.

SV HAWK, owned and crewed by Evans Starzinger and Beth Leonard, completed 8 world circumnavigations. Twice wintering in the Chilean Channels on SV Hawk, they wrote the modern book on world cruising. SV Amok in the photographs was constructed in Falmouth UK and sailed to Perth over a 4 year period by a local Perth family. Amok then sailed to Tasmania and then on to New Zealand. She is now based at the Wellington Yacht Club NZ.

Due to the passing of the retired naval engineer owner, this superb vessel now needs a new owner to love her and finish her off. She requires only fitout and painting.
