Lee Overlay Partners III is a full-carbon custom HH66 built to win races and is widely recognised as one of the world's fastest performance cruising catamarans, with a proven track record in both rating and line honours.
Between regattas, a full lightweight luxury fit-out with four cabins, air conditioning, watermaker, full galley, bar, and all cruising amenities makes her the ultimate dual-purpose platform. Professionally maintained to an exceptionally high standard and custom finished throughout, LOP III is ready for her next regatta win, and everything in between.
LOP III is not a standard production HH66 - she is a bespoke, fully custom build executed to the highest possible specification. Key upgrades over the standard HH66 platform include full pre-preg ultra high modulus carbon daggerboards with Cariboni hydraulic rams controlling both rake and depth from both helms, carbon fixed T-foil rudders with 24V Linak actuator, titanium tiebar to elevator flap, and JEFA bearings, JEFA Version 2 transmission steering system with carbon torque tubes, self-aligning bearings and titanium fasteners throughout, switchable smart glass saloon windows electronically transitioning from opaque to transparent, Lorimar ultra high modulus rotating carbon wing mast with CarboLink Swiss carbon standing rigging, Cariboni hydraulic system controlling daggerboards, rudder elevator flap, cunningham, outhaul, tackline, and mast rotation all from both helms, racing-removable galley components including Vitrifrigo refrigeration and Webasto wine cooler/Isotherm ice maker with quick-disconnect systems, custom UI ships computer with B&G Zeus integration at all helm stations, titanium hardware and fasteners throughout deck and rigging systems, and custom gearing on all electric winches with soft-start over-torque protection.
LOP III has a distinguished competitive record, having won both line honours and on rating in offshore and inshore regattas.
LOP III is comprehensively outfitted and ready for immediate offshore passage or regatta. She includes a complete North and Doyle sail wardrobe with both racing and cruising mainsails, multiple jibs, code zero, and asymmetric spinnakers, full B&G Zeus electronics package with 19" chart displays at each helm and nav station, Starlink satellite internet, 720 amp/hr Lithium Ion 24V battery bank with full Mastervolt management, Spectra Newport 400c watermaker, Rocna 55 kg primary anchor with Lewmar V5 electric windlass, and full canvas package with cockpit awning, sail covers, wheel covers, and window covers.
Despite her racing pedigree, LOP III delivers refined live-aboard comfort. Four en-suite cabins feature queen berths and 150mm foam mattresses. Teak veneer carbon composite joinery throughout provides warm, elegant, and light furnishings. The galley features a Jura coffee machine, Force 10 four-burner gas stove/oven, Vitrifrigo fridge and freezer drawers, Webasto wine cooler, and Isotherm ice maker. Air conditioning comprises 44,000 BTU Dometic marine air conditioning serving the saloon and all four cabins. Switchable smart glass provides instant privacy without blinds. The latest generation Morrelli & Melvin hull design is engineered to CE and ISO regulations and standards. Epoxy-infused carbon fibre hulls and decks are constructed in female tooling for precise tolerances and minimum weight. Composite foam sandwich construction with thermoformed Corecell core increases strength and reduces weight. Post-curing occurs in an oven for 36 hours with controlled ramp-up and ramp-down temperatures peaking at 68-71°C. Carbon laminate taping at hull bottom joints is continuous and uninterrupted beneath bulkheads. Independent QA inspection of hull, deck, and structural bonding was completed during build.
Epoxy-infused carbon fibre hull and deck structure features additional carbon reinforcement in highly loaded areas. Carbon fibre longitudinal stringers and ring frames, structural composite hull floors for enhanced stiffness and weight reduction, and carbon fibre chainplates are employed. Bulkheads were thermo-imaged at build to confirm bonding integrity.
