This beautifully kept 2006 X-50 by X-Yachts has always been professionally looked after, has seen many updates and upgrades, and is ready to go sailing; racing or cruising.
Built in sandwich construction with structural compressed foam, the white hull and navy-blue stripes feature bi-directional E-glass strategically positioned for strength and weight optimization. Solid laminates surround high stress areas around keel, rudder and through hull fittings. The navy blue hull with white waterlines was wrapped over the original dark blue in 2023. The hull is molded in female moulds for highest quality surface finish, with a structural bulkhead in marine plywood varying in thickness from 16–30 mm. A steel frame—hot-galvanized, high strength, and laminated into the hull—absorbs all loads from keel, mast and rigging. A single point hoist facilitates easy and safe lifting and launching. A bathing ladder in stainless steel is mounted. A standard keel is in storage and available if deep draft is not wanted.
The deck is built in sandwich construction with structural compressed foam and bi-directional E-glass. The outer surface is white sprayed Gelcoat (RAL 9010 white), with side decks Awl Gripped with nonskid in gray. Deck and locker lids are molded in female molds for highest quality surface finish. A large storage locker in the bow has deck and interior access. Teak, vacuum applied at 9 mm nominal thickness, is fitted in the cockpit sole, seats and bathing platform. The bulwark features teak capping incorporated in the deck and hull design. An electric windlass with stainless steel anchor anchors the anchor locker. Gas springs are fitted to the sail cabin, port and starboard cockpit lockers, and port aft cockpit locker hatch. A halyard locker is recessed into the cockpit. A teak cockpit table is included. A sprayhood in dark blue covers the space.
Sail handling is managed by Harken electrical primary winches, a Harken electric mainsheet system, a stainless steel Andersen electrical 52.2 for halyards, and Spinlock jammer/clutches for halyards, control lines and reef lines. Genoa tracks mounted on deck feature adjustable Genoa cars and control lines. Asymmetric and symmetric spinnaker gear are installed.
The sails include a Doyle mainsail, Doyle 106% jib (2025), Shore 136% genoa (2024), Storm stays'l by Doyle (2024), Quantum spinnaker (2023), and an asymmetric spinnaker (2018). A furling tweener (code sail) has never been used.
The JOHN MAST fractional three spreader tapered silver anodized aluminum mast is stepped on a steel frame. It features a furlerboom with in-boom furler with hydraulic, a hydraulic vang, a central backstay with single NAVTEC adjuster, new discontinuous rod rigging throughout with rod turnbuckles, new running rigging, a new innerstay deck fitting with runners, and a Spectra topping lift.
Accommodation consists of a 3 cabin layout with 3 heads.
The main engine is a Volvo D2 75 HP with annual maintenance. A 3 blade folding propeller is fitted, with an additional 105 L fuel tank.
Plumbing includes Spinlock seacocks and through hull fittings throughout, a fresh water stainless steel tank, an Isotherm hot water tank heated either by main engine or immersion heater connected to shore power, and holding tanks for two heads. A deck shower fitted at the bathing platform provides hot and cold freshwater. 3 electric fridges and air conditioning (3 units) are installed.
Electrical systems comprise a Mastervolt lithium battery system for service, a separate AGM battery for engine start, a shore power installation with shore power inlet mounted in the cockpit through converter providing 110 V 50 Hz shore power, an AC distribution box with circuit breaker/10 A fuse, 230 V AC socket and switches for ship's power, a Mastervolt battery charger and inverter, and a Fisher Panda 5 KVA generator.
Navigation equipment includes a new Brookes and Gatehouse chartplotter (2023) at the nav station, 4 4X4 sailing instruments above the companionway, a 4X4 sailing instrument at the nav station, a Raymarine auto pilot, and a Raymarine VHF radio.
Lee cloths are fitted on bunks for offshore use. An 8 man life raft (2024) is on board, along with 60 feet of chain and 100 feet of rode.
