About this vessel
WILETIE is a 1927 Edson B. Schock designed Classic Schooner built in Southern California by the famous Dittmar Yard of Costa Mesa during the golden years of American Schooners. She was restored and rebuilt over the past few years, with total repainting inside and out and meticulous detailing with attention to original design integrity. She is in excellent structural and operational condition and represents a unique opportunity to own a piece of West Coast Yachting History.
A powerful performer, she is built of Douglas Fir over Oak and bronze fastened, featuring beautiful teak decks, a full compliment of sails, electronics, and vintage hardware. She has wheel steering and a 55hp diesel auxiliary engine. A highly pedigreed and capable blue-water cruiser in the tradition of the Master Mariners and Classic Yachts.
The vessel received comprehensive restoration completed in 2006, with new standing rigging, new decks and substrates, replacement of much of the hull planking, spars refinished, and cabin top fiberglass sheathing. Complete topsides painting was completed in 2020, with complete interior painting and refinishing in 2022.
