'Quasar' was built to Commercial survey and has an incredible history as a charter yacht often with international clients. Built by Brian Sutherland and highly regarded as one of the fastest racer cruisers built winning the Adelaide to Port Lincoln yacht race in her early days. She is a fast lightweight aluminium yacht of the famous Van De Stadt, Voortrekker design built to Loyd's 100A+ and in survey for over 20 years. She has a racing speed of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 5-10 knots. She has sailed extensively around Port Lincoln and Kangaroo Island South Australia as a charter - training yacht. She is designed to sail single handed or with a crew. Due to the ease of the self tacking jib and main the pressure is taken off the helm. After purchase with the design approval from Van De Stadt there was an aft captains cabin added to give charter clients more privacy. The seating and accommodation inside is awesome and very comfortable with seating for 10 people in the Saloon the saloon seats convert to extra beds. There is also a bunk room forward and 2 x quarter berths aft in main cabin.
