Overview
About this vessel
A landing craft ferry day passenger and car-truck ferry, originally built in 1979 and rebuilt in 1986. The vessel underwent a complete refit in 2013 at a cost exceeding €400,000, which comprehensively modernised its mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and safety systems.
The refit included installation of anti-rolling plates, a new heavy-duty ramp with new hydraulic pump and system, replacement of all electrical cables throughout the ship, new fire lines in corridors, and an emergency fire generator. The two stern windlasses were completely overhauled, alongside approximately 10 tons of steel works. Both rudders were repaired and a new hydraulic pump installed for the steering gear.
The main engines were overhauled with new gearboxes, new electric panels with rewiring of alarms and a new cooling system. The tail shafts were removed and inspected. Seventy percent of the piping system in the engine room was replaced, and both side exhaust pipes were raised by 1.5 metres. Two new fans of latest technology were installed in the engine room, and the fuel and daily tanks were cleaned.
The bridge received extensive upgrades: new Koden radar, new AIS with adapter, new plotter, two new VHF DSC Class D2 radios, auto pilot, and new instrument panels for main engines. All wiring for bridge instruments was replaced, along with new electrical panels. Two central bridge windows were replaced, and ceiling lighting was upgraded. An internal access was created between bridge and saloon.
Accommodation was rebuilt and expanded: the Captain's and Chief Engineer's cabins now include their own personal toilet and shower. Two 4-berth cabins with bathrooms for passengers, one double cabin with bathroom for officers, one single cabin with bathroom for owner, and three double cabins with bathroom for crew were built. One additional shower room with WC was added. All cabins feature new wiring systems and air-conditioning. The galley was fully equipped and rebuilt.
The vessel is fully air-conditioned throughout all spaces. Safety equipment includes an inflatable raft, lifeboat, and 20 floating devices.
