Expedition / Fishing / Charter / Dive Vessel
Overview
About this vessel
23.5 m steel charter and fishing vessel suitable for commercial fishing operations, reef fishing charters, exploration, research, and expedition work. The vessel has served as a commercial cray fishing vessel in Tasmania, a government-funded Crown of Thorns vessel, and a comfortable reef charter vessel.
Present charter operators in Gladstone cannot keep up with demand for fishing trips to the Swain Reefs. Another boat based in Gladstone would perform well in this industry and would be perfect as a mother ship for remote fishing operations.
The vessel underwent an extensive refit in 2015. Accommodation for 18 people across 8 separate cabins, all fitted with air conditioning, TVs, DVDs, and fully lined and carpeted.
8 cubic metre chiller room and 8 cubic metre freezer room. AMSA Certificate of Survey for 2B Charter 12 + 6 to 200 nautical miles from the coast; 3B Fishing 12 persons.
Recent service history includes: 2019 — new gearbox fitted; 2021 — new starboard genset fitted; 2022 — port genset fully reconditioned; 2023 — top end rebuild on main engine; 2024 — full external repaint.
