This Grand Banks 42 Motor Yacht is a semi-custom with galley up, two stateroom yacht featuring an enormous full beam aft owner's stateroom. The owner's stateroom boasts a centerline queen berth, full head with dedicated shower, cabinets, drawers, hanging locker, and desk. There is an overhead hatch and 8 opening ports for extensive ventilation, with cabin fans throughout.
The spacious forward stateroom has an ensuite head with shower stall and generous storage. Both heads are VacuFlush fresh water heads.
What makes this semi-custom Grand Banks truly unique is that it left the factory with the utility room configuration installed, representing a highly customized and exceptionally rare configuration for a Grand Banks. The utility room includes a top loading deep freezer, storage cabinets with a full height pantry, washer/dryer, and workbench with tool storage.
The main salon features a new full opening front salon window (2020) that provides flow through ventilation.
The galley features an electric stove with oven and Grunnert 110v holding plate refrigeration with a refrigerator in the galley and refrigerator/freezer in the main salon, plus an ice maker installed in 2022. The factory-designed utility room includes a deep freezer with Grunnert 110v holding plate, storage, a combo Splendide washer/dryer with venting, microwave, and workbench.
Power is provided by an Onan 8kw generator with Racor fuel filter and sound shield (3,680 hours). House power is managed through a Xantrex Freedom SW Sine wave 3000 watt inverter/charger dedicated to 6 Group 31 AGM house batteries installed in 2022. A Xantrex True Charge 40 amp charger is dedicated to engine, generator, and dinghy lift batteries. Additional battery capacity includes 2 engine start batteries and a dinghy lift battery, all AGM Group units installed in 2022. A ProSafe FS60 galvanic isolator is installed, with 50 amp and 30 amp shore cords and adaptors. Shore power includes 50 amp service with bow and stern receptacles and bonding system. Climate control consists of three air/heat units: one 16,000 BTU and two 12,000 BTU units.
Ground tackle includes an 88# Rocna anchor with 200 feet of 3/8" HT chain and nylon braid rode, plus a Fortress FX55 with chain and additional nylon braid rode. A Lofrans Tigress windlass was installed in 2022. Saltwater anchor washdown with high volume pump and fore and aft freshwater washdown systems are fitted. Deck amenities include a 10-foot Rigid Boats all-fiberglass dinghy with 30hp Evinrude outboard (2019), steering console with GPS plotter, custom davits with electric hoist (2019), bimini with enclosure, teak table with cover, and a Magma propane grill on the rail-mounted aft deck. Additional exterior features include a teak swim platform (finished), unfinished exterior teak, transom (varnished and covered), stainless steel opening center window in salon, 4 opening hatches, and mesh window covers. Propane locker with tanks is installed. The fuel tanks are 4 x 100 gallon aluminum units replaced in 2013.
Twin 2010 Cummins 6BT engines produce 220hp at 2,600 rpm, remanufactured and installed in 2010. Engines are synchronized with controls at two stations and paired with new ZF220 gears (2010). A fuel polishing system (160 GPH), oil change systems for both engines, transmissions and generator, and dual Racor filters with valves for each engine are fitted. An instant hot water system was installed in 2011. Spare propellers and 4 automatic bilge pumps (2 standard, one high-water, and one sump) complete the mechanical installation.
