The Ocean Alexander 423 Classico "Andante" is a proven long-range cruising yacht that blends timeless trawler styling with exceptional comfort, reliability, and practical ownership. A veteran of the Great Loop and multiple Bahama trips, this well-maintained yacht is fully equipped and ready for her next adventure. Powered by twin Caterpillar 3208 diesel engines professionally rebuilt in 2014, with only 1,088 hours since overhaul (receipts on board), she offers dependable performance and the peace of mind serious cruisers appreciate.
Designed for extended cruising or comfortable liveaboard use, the spacious interior features a warm teak salon, a fully equipped galley, and a desirable two-stateroom, two-head layout, providing excellent privacy and accommodations for two couples or family cruising. Dual helm stations, a bow thruster, Garmin electronics, Simrad autopilot, and an upper bridge protected by a custom hardtop with a full four-sided enclosure make operating the vessel comfortable in virtually any weather.
Outside, minimal exterior teak reduces annual maintenance while fresh bottom paint and zincs help ensure she is ready for immediate cruising. An electric crane/davit and included 8.5' Boss Boat dinghy with Yamaha 9.9HP four-stroke outboard complete an impressive package.
A Kabola diesel-powered furnace system was added in 2019. This 47.7k BTU diesel furnace is located in the lazarette with exhaust in the starboard aft area. Three zones (forward, mid, aft), each with its own thermostat, are served by seven Real Sure Marine radiator/heaters positioned throughout the interior, providing even heat distribution. The system uses a closed loop with non-toxic antifreeze, spare antifreeze is onboard, and a 5-gallon buffer tank is located beneath the forward bunks. An 800-watt Victron inverter (12V DC to 240V AC) powers this system. Two reverse cycle (16k BTU each) heat/air conditioning units, each with their own thermostat, provide additional cooling and heating capability.
Rich teak woodwork with teak parquet flooring and excellent headroom. Large windows with wood blinds and fabric curtains. A large L-shaped sofa runs down the starboard side and across the back with storage beneath. A large teak table for dining and a leather barrel chair, reading lamps and overhead lighting. Port and starboard side doors offer easy access to both sidewalks.
The galley is located at the front of the main salon with excellent natural light and a bar with stools. Teak cabinetry, upper and lower storage cabinets, and excellent use of storage opportunities. The garbage and recycling are conveniently stored in a pull-out cabinet beneath the stove, and there is a large bulk storage space beneath the teak parquet galley floor with custom shelving. A stainless steel sink features a cutting board and drying rack. Tiled counter and backsplash with no-touch LED under-counter lighting.
Located at the forward starboard portion of the main salon, this station is fully capable of vessel command with total electronics and controls. Upper gauge console with engine monitoring gauges, upper plate and glass storage, teak steering wheel, and quick, easy access from either side of the boat via port and starboard doors.
With a full custom hardtop and four-sided enclosure featuring three brand new front panels (polycarbonate corners with a 40-mil crystal clear 2020 center panel), the flybridge is an exceptional space for morning coffee, evening cocktails, and entertaining. The hardtop provides tremendous comfort and feel. L-shaped flybridge seating with significant storage beneath, and a rectangular table with lip.
The guest stateroom is forward and offers excellent storage, crossed upper and lower bunks, excellent headroom, overhead hatch, and stainless steel portlights. This space includes its own head with stand-up shower featuring a built-in seat and bi-fold door.
The master stateroom is located aft of the main salon, featuring a queen-sized pedestal bed with custom inner-spring mattress. This full beam stateroom has stainless steel side portlights and an overhead hatch on the port side. Door and drawer storage cabinets run along the starboard and port sides with two large hanging locker closets forward. A beauty counter with sitting stool, mirror, and make-up storage is located in the port rear corner. The master has its own zone of reverse cycle heating and air conditioning, and includes a head with stand-up shower featuring a bi-fold door.
Transom-mounted swim platform with fresh water washdown (hot and cold) on the starboard side. Folding swim ladder on the port side. Safety rails and recessed walkaround. Cavernous lazarette storage compartment. Anchor pulpit with stainless steel chute. Windlass with foot-pedal controls. Radar mast with spreader light and backup camera for docking. Forward hatch and latches replaced in 2020. The topside finish is in serviceable shape, though there is visible wear; a new owner might eventually want to refinish with gel coat or modern marine topside paint, though this is a cosmetic issue only.
Overall, the boat is in very good shape and feels solid underway. Maintenance has been diligently kept up, with equipment replaced or repaired as issues arose. The bottom was fully inspected and received two coats of barrier and two coats of Petit Trinidad HD hard copper/epoxy bottom paint in spring 2026, with all zincs and anodes replaced at that time. Normal recommissioning items, water pump impeller replacement for the generator, spring cleaning, and heating system flush were completed spring 2026.
