The cockpit and helm areas have received extensive modernization, including 2023 new cockpit cushions, 2023 new helm cushions, 2023 new black bimini, 2023 drop-down enclosure with new Isinglass, SeaDek throughout cockpit and helm areas, and SeaDek on swim platform. Features include custom color-changing LED cockpit lighting, large U-shaped cockpit seating, double helm seating, companion lounge, cockpit wet bar, cockpit refrigerator, cockpit sink, two removable cockpit tables, cockpit sun-pad conversion, hot/cold cockpit shower, freshwater washdown, and a rail-mounted Magma propane grill. Construction
The 450 Sundancer combines Sea Ray's substantial fiberglass construction with a deep-V hull designed to provide confident performance in coastal conditions. The hull features approximately 20-degree transom deadrise, molded fiberglass deck, structural fiberglass grid, stainless steel deck hardware, and high-gloss interior joinery.
Mechanical and Propulsion
Bearacuda is powered by twin Caterpillar 3126 turbocharged diesel engines rated at 420 HP each, currently showing approximately 457 hours. A major investment in engine service occurred in 2020, and the machinery has continued to receive regular professional attention with service records available for review. The vessel features V-drive propulsion, hydraulic steering, hydraulic trim tabs, and an oil-change system. An 8.0 KW generator supports onboard systems, along with reverse-cycle air conditioning, a fire-suppression system, engine-room insulation, and excellent machinery access.
Electrical and Electronics
Bearacuda is equipped for comfortable cruising and extended time aboard with both shore and generator-supplied AC power. The 50-amp shore power system includes a 12V DC electrical system, AC/DC distribution panels, and a battery charging system supporting cabin lighting, navigation lighting, bilge pumps, custom cockpit LED lighting, and updated illuminated helm switches.
One of Bearacuda's most substantial modernization projects took place at the helm. In 2022, the helm received custom panels, updated gauges and new illuminated push-button switches, dramatically updating the appearance and functionality of the command station. Electronics include Garmin GPSMAP chartplotters with Garmin Autopilot, a 2021 Simrad RS20 VHF, compass, engine instrumentation, windlass controls, and JL Audio cockpit speakers. A backup camera is included and ready for installation.
