Mechanical
Bearacuda is powered by twin 420 HP Caterpillar 3126 diesel engines, currently showing approximately 460 hours. In 2020, significant investment was made in both engines: the starboard engine was replaced with a remanufactured unit, while the port engine was professionally rebuilt. Since that work, both engines have accumulated relatively low hours. For a yacht of this vintage, this represents a substantial mechanical investment already undertaken by previous ownership rather than leaving the next owner facing original, high-hour propulsion machinery.

Construction
Sea Ray built the 450 Sundancer on a solid fiberglass deep-V hull with approximately 20 degrees of deadrise, providing an excellent balance of comfort, efficiency, and offshore capability. The survey describes the hull as a fiberglass deep-V design with Baltek coring, a molded fiberglass deck, quality stainless hardware, and a well-executed structural grid. Construction highlights include hand-laid fiberglass construction, deep-V hull, Baltek-cored deck structure, molded fiberglass structural grid, stainless hardware throughout, cherry interior joinery, wide 13'11" beam, and integrated swim platform.
