Exhale is an expedition yacht in every way. From its highly redundant systems to its deep draft and its commanding bow, this Passagemaker is begging to see all four corners of the globe boasting a 6,000 NM range. Custom built from a proven Stephen Seaton design at the Ed Wahl shipyard in British Columbia to heavy commercial boat standards. She is similar in concept to the famous Spirit of Zopilote, only larger. Her legendary Gardner 8L3B main engine was purchased freshly re-manufactured from England. With Twin disk gear turning a 5' prop and barn door rudder provides unequaled reliability and fuel economy.
Steve Seaton's name is synonymous with offshore cruising powerboats. In the last 40 years, he has produced more than 400 designs, many of which are long-range cruisers that define the modern trawler yacht. Seaton's boats are widely valued for their seakindliness, efficiency, and timeless good looks. The "Seaton look" has been widely imitated throughout the industry, but an original Seaton design has a style and ability all its own.
Launched in 2000, Exhale was used primarily as a live aboard until her current owners took possession of the yacht in 2020. The yacht got a new breath of life to a tune of $600K including new hull paint in 2020, updated electronics in 2024 and the majority of the soft goods replaced/refurbished in 2025.
With its unique design Exhale provides a full beam salon, full beam aft master stateroom with the engine located forward of midships similar to fishing vessels of its time. This makes the yacht uncommonly spacious throughout. Storage is no issue for this boat. If the dream is to go far and stay long, Exhale needs to be at the top of your list.
Accommodations
Full beam salon with cherry cabinetry. Forward and to port is a curved staircase leading up to the pilothouse. Forward is the U-shaped galley, extending all the way to starboard. To port is a curved stairway leading down and aft to the master stateroom and machinery spaces forward.
Continuing forward and to port is a day head and a hallway with large storage cabinets. There is ample space for months worth of stores. Forward is a foc'sle cabin/office space with two single bunks, cabinets and desk.
Heading aft again to starboard is guest stateroom with queen bunk, custom cabinetry and private access to a head with stall shower.
Spacious pilothouse has a table and guest seating with a small pilot berth against the aft bulkhead. There is a fixed double seat for helmsman and co-pilot. Excellent visibility with a full compliment of glass bridge electronics. Electronic controls are duplicated on both wings of the Portuguese bridge.
Aft of the pilothouse is a huge boat deck with large deck boxes, deck freezer, and custom hot tub. A ladder on the aft bulkhead of the pilothouse leads to the flybridge with duplicate controls. Fresh water heads. Hydraulic heating. Reverse cycle heat AC. Salon windows replaced and re-bed in 2021.
Pilot House
To enter the pilot house you can either go up the aft ladder well from the cockpit or head up the spiral staircase just forward of the salon and adjacent to the galley. The pilot house is HUGE. Featuring a full Settee to Starboard with a fixed table and watch bunk just aft and a two person helm chair. Large chart table and a commanding view from the pilot station.
Galley
Spacious U-shaped galley with granite counters. Huge SubZero refrigerator/freezer. Four element Frigidaire glass top electric range/oven. Built-in Kitchen Aide microwave. Bosch Dishwasher. Broan trash compactor. Large pantry.
Large BBQ station on aft Cockpit deck with sink. Portable BBQ and single basin sink on flybridge. U-Line refrigerator/icemaker and sink in pilothouse.
