Island Explorer is an aluminium plate catamaran with ample freeboard, designed as a comfortable and dry sea boat. The vessel has transported passengers around the Whitsundays Islands on day trips and serviced resorts including Lindeman Island and Hook Island Underwater Observatory.

The catamaran features bow stairs that are raised and lowered between the hulls, making stepping on and off the vessel at the beach very safe and easy for tourists. This design is particularly well-suited for divers and snorkelers, offering easy access in and out of the water.

A ground-up refit has recently been completed, including new paint, seats, carpet, bimini/roof, dashboard, plotter, lights, and lifejackets.
