About this vessel
Radford 50 sailing yacht, designed by Graham Radford and built by McIntyre Marine in Australia in 2004. The yacht is named Pekljus.
The hull is constructed from fibreglass and GRP composite vinylester with corecell laminate, and the deck is balsa core fibreglass composite. The keel features a bulb on duplex stainless steel. The boat is fitted with a Yanmar 33 HP diesel saildrive engine and a Fisher Panda generator.
The accommodation includes six bunks with two removable pipe cots. The galley is equipped with a single stainless steel sink and microwave. There is an opening 12V built-in fridge, a JABSCO electric toilet with sea water flush, and air conditioning throughout.
The vessel is equipped with extensive navigation and communication electronics including a Raymarine GPS chart plotter with GPS antenna on deck, autopilot, HF and VHF radios with antennas for VHF, FM and AIS, an integrated satellite phone, and an AIS Class B transponder linked to the chart plotter. Electrical systems include 12V LED interior and navigation lighting, an inverter/charger, and lithium ion house batteries. Bilge pumping is provided by electric and manual pumps.
The deck gear features an aluminium twin swept spreader rig with aluminium boom, 1x19 wire, a bow sprit with integrated tack lines, and a self-tacking jib system (currently not fitted). The boat has two Harken electric cabintop winches, two Harken electric primary winches, two Harken 57 mainsheet winches, and Spinlock jammers. A hydraulic backstay adjuster is fitted.
The sail inventory (updated 06/07/21) is extensive, including multiple upwind sails (Code 1, Code 1.5, Code 2.5, Code 3, Code 4, storm jib, and Code 0 upwind and downwind), two mainsails (regatta offshore and workhorse offshore), a storm trisail, and downwind sails (A2, A2.5, A3(A), A3(B), and A4). The vessel also carries additional sails.
Other features include a boom cover, cockpit cover, and wheel cover. Ground tackle comprises two anchors with chain and war. Fuel capacity is 120L stainless steel.
