Selene 40 Ocean Trawler Built for Long-Range Cruising
PACE features a Perkins M185C diesel engine that produces 185 hp through a shaft drive and fixed four-blade bronze propeller. She cruises at approximately 8 knots and reaches a maximum speed of approximately 9 knots. At 6 knots, her published range extends to approximately 2,500 nautical miles.
Additionally, a Westerbeke 44B Four auxiliary engine provides an independent "get-home" system. A Northern Lights 7 kW generator supports the yacht's onboard systems. Side-Power bow and stern thrusters also assist with close-quarters manoeuvring.
Meanwhile, the comprehensive Raymarine navigation package includes radar, GPS, AIS, autopilot, depth, speed and wind instruments. Two Icom VHF radios provide further communication support.
Extensive Refit and Cruising Equipment
PACE underwent a substantial refit in Phuket. The programme included repainting the topsides and superstructure, repairing the teak decks, installing a flybridge hardtop and revarnishing the interior.
Further work included Copper Bottom antifouling, a generator rebuild, stern-thruster replacement, two Tides shaft seals and a new main-engine shaft. Moreover, the five separate battery banks received replacements in 2024, while the main-engine alternator underwent an overhaul.
With 2,270 litres of fuel and 680 litres of fresh water, this Selene 40 Ocean Trawler supports extended and increasingly independent cruising.
Comfortable Two-Cabin Accommodation
Inside, PACE offers two guest cabins and two heads. Three separate Marine Air systems provide air conditioning to the forward cabin, master cabin and saloon.
The galley includes a refrigerator and Force 10 three-burner hob with a combined oven and grill. In addition, the saloon provides a freezer and ice maker. An Aquamiser watermaker, fuel-polishing system and Reverso oil-change system further enhance her cruising capability.
Outside, the equipment includes teak decks, a cockpit shower, swim ladder, electric windlass and 12V davit. Finally, a Quicksilver tender with a Mercury 5 hp outboard completes the inventory.
