We are exceptionally proud to represent Kinship, a custom-designed and built Keith Eade 44. As Keith Eade's own yacht, she is the culmination of decades of design, engineering and sailing experience, brought to life without compromise and with no expense spared.
Conceived as a capable coastal and offshore cruiser and built to Category 1 standards, Kinship is an exceptional fusion of contemporary design, advanced materials and outstanding traditional craftsmanship. Every aspect of her construction reflects a philosophy of uncompromising quality, meticulous engineering and considered redundancy. The result is a yacht designed to deliver exceptional safety, reliability and confidence, particularly when undertaking extended offshore passages with family.
The original plan was to complete a three-year circumnavigation of New Zealand and Australia; Kinship was designed with a clear focus on self-sufficiency, practicality and offshore capability. Her dimensions were carefully considered to accommodate marina berthing throughout both countries, while her mechanical systems were engineered with reliability and redundancy at their core. Twin 37hp engines provide the reassurance of an alternative means of propulsion should one become unavailable, an important consideration when cruising beyond immediate assistance. Each engine is equipped with a substantial 140-amp alternator supplying the house battery bank through an advanced battery management system. This arrangement allows the standard engine alternators to remain dedicated to their respective starting batteries, providing a well-considered and independent charging system.
Extended cruising capability is further enhanced by generous fuel and freshwater capacities of 475 litres and 650 litres respectively, complemented by a 50-litre-per-hour watermaker. These features, together with her carefully engineered systems, make Kinship exceptionally well suited to extended cruising and remote destinations.
Her sailing systems have been meticulously designed to make handling straightforward and intuitive, whether sailing single-handed or short-handed, across a wide range of conditions. The spacious, well-appointed cockpit provides excellent access to the bathing platform through a transom door, while the perfectly positioned hardtop offers outstanding protection to both the cockpit and companionway without compromising visibility of the sails.
A few easy steps lead into the raised deck saloon, where natural light floods the interior and expansive, 300-degree panoramic views create an exceptional connection with the surrounding environment. The beautifully appointed accommodation comprises three generous cabins, two heads and a dedicated shower room. Comfort and self-sufficiency are further enhanced by an integrated washer-dryer, substantial refrigeration and freezer capacity, and an abundance of intelligently designed storage. Every detail has been carefully considered to make extended time aboard both comfortable and practical.
Kinship is quite simply a work of art. The exquisite craftsmanship of the saloon table alone offers a glimpse into the passion, skill and attention to detail invested in her creation. Throughout the yacht, the quality of materials, precision of construction and exceptional standard of finish are immediately apparent. She is a testament to what can be achieved when design integrity, engineering excellence and craftsmanship take precedence over conventional constraints of time and budget.
Kinship is a genuinely unique yacht, offering a rare opportunity to acquire a vessel conceived, engineered and built to an extraordinary standard. A personal viewing is essential to fully appreciate this yacht.
