The Raku 45 is a quality Australian performance cruising catamaran, with SUPA TROOPER designed by legendary multihull designer Tony Grainger and professionally built at Redland City Marina on Queensland's East Coast. A one-owner vessel, she has been immaculately cared for and maintained, with an impressive level of equipment for extended cruising. Her solid epoxy construction, strip-planked cedar hulls below the waterline and high-impact-resistant ATL panels above create a durable, lightweight structure ideally suited to long-distance passagemaking.
Having cruised more than 20,000 nautical miles with her current owners, including extensive passages along the East Coast of Australia, four Bass Strait crossings and voyages to New Caledonia and Vanuatu, SUPA TROOPER has proven herself to be a capable and enjoyable cruising catamaran in a wide range of conditions.
Fine hulls, plumb bows and generous bridgedeck clearance combine with a well-balanced, easily managed sail plan to deliver rewarding sailing performance. Her standing rigging was replaced in 2024, while quality cruising sails have been renewed over the past few years. The semi-raised helm station, complemented by an electric primary winch and full enclosure of clears, provides a practical and efficient setup for short-handed and single-handed sailing.
Under power, SUPA TROOPER is equipped with twin, well-maintained Yanmar 30hp diesel engines, with good access and clean engine bays. Designed for extended periods away from shore facilities, her off-grid systems include 720W of solar, a wind generator and a lithium house battery bank. Extended range and self-sufficiency are further supported by a generous 1,000L diesel capacity, more than 1,000L of water storage and a Spectra watermaker. A washing machine and separate dryer add further convenience for longer voyages, making her exceptionally well equipped for independent cruising.
The accommodation is thoughtfully configured to suit a cruising couple while offering flexibility for family and friends. The weather-protected, enclosed cockpit provides access to the helm station and the comfortable saloon, which features a practical galley-up layout. Across the hulls, four cabins comprise two queen berths and two double berths, each offering ample storage, good lighting and 12V fans. Two spacious walk-through bathrooms make excellent use of the available space and are positioned amidships, each featuring a generous shower, vanity and electric flush toilet.
SUPA TROOPER is an excellent example of the quality and capability achievable with a professionally built Australian catamaran. Presenting in exceptional condition, both inside and out, she combines proven offshore experience, easily managed sailing systems and genuine long-term cruising capability.
Modern and bright interior with U-shaped saloon positioned opposite a functional galley-up design.
Professionally built, exceptionally maintained and proven over 20,000 nautical miles, SUPER TROOPER is a highly equipped Australian performance catamaran ready for her next adventure.
