About this vessel
Seawolf, built as Black Baza, is one of the world's most advanced IRC grand prix racers in the 40' range. The boat has achieved unparalleled success in Asia, winning its first Category 1 offshore race two weeks after commissioning and going on to win the prestigious and exceptionally challenging Asia Yachting Grand Prix 2015-2016. Among its many victories are the 2016 Rolex China Sea Race IRC 1st Overall, 2017 RHKYC Hong Kong - San Fernando Race 1st IRC Overall, 2023 Hong Kong Typhoon Cup Series IRC Group A champion, and 2024 champion of IRC Group 1.
Seawolf represents Ker's most advanced hull design, which was subsequently incorporated into his Ker 40+ boats that compete in the UK's Fast Forties fleet. The boat is constructed of glass and foam infused epoxy. It was intentionally built without carbon (except on a limited basis in some panels) to avoid severe rating penalties that could not be overcome with this length of boat competing against older, non-carbon boats. The cabin was carefully designed for access and headroom at no cost to performance. A watertight aft compartment, accessible from deck, was installed for safety.
This is one of the highest spec'd boats on the market and includes many advanced systems found only on high-end grand prix racing boats, typically TP52s. Lines are under-deck and carefully designed to ensure a dry boat even in the roughest conditions. No detail was overlooked or expense spared in design, construction, and equipment.
