Capricornus is a truly extraordinary 49-meter multihull that redefines superyacht design. As her name suggests, Capricornus represents the mythical zodiac sea creature symbolising strength, resilience, and adventure. The concept was created by a renowned European design house and represents a pinnacle of modern shipbuilding—a vessel designed to explore the world in ultimate comfort while sparing nothing in performance and versatility.
At 48.88 meters in length with a 14.75-meter beam, she is a yacht of phenomenal proportions. As a tri-deck multihull, she boasts 909 gross tonnes and a total exterior teak-laid deck space of 600 square meters. Yet, with a fully loaded draft of just 2.51 meters, she epitomizes the benefits of multihull cruising—offering extraordinary stability and efficiency while maintaining the ability to access shallow bays and remote anchorages that other yachts of this volume can only dream of.
She is constructed with a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure, ensuring robust ocean-going performance while maintaining elegant, modern, and sharp lines. Her sheer volume and striking profile will undoubtedly turn heads when entering a crowded bay, but in reality, she will more likely be found in secluded, untouched, and discreet locations.
Capricornus has been built to and maintained in Bureau Veritas class, a challenging feat in any case. More impressively, she is classed as a BV Passenger Vessel for 36 passengers overnight. Every inch of this vessel has been class- and type-approved to meet the most stringent regulations—even down to the fabrics onboard. Should her next owner choose, she could be "downgraded" to commercial yacht status, but her current level of classification opens the door to unimaginable scope and abundant commercial opportunity. Capricornus was originally envisioned as a superyacht-level vessel tailored for the boutique cruise ship market—and the result is nothing short of incredible.
Capricornus features an incredible 15 ensuited guest staterooms, spread across her main and upper deck. Four of these suites have their own private balconies, something undoubtedly appealing to charter guests and owners alike. Her incredible accommodation makes her capable of welcoming up to 36 guests overnight in absolute privacy and comfort.
She has the capacity to house 40 professional crew members, though she can safely operate with as few as 10, providing flexibility to bring onboard local guides, dive masters, masseuses, and other specialized support staff depending on the expedition. Whether operating as a passenger vessel or a private adventure yacht, her setup can be tailored to suit an owner's specific needs.
Arriving onboard, guests step onto two expansive swim platforms, each fitted with dedicated garages. These platforms are connected by a 3,000kg hydraulic lift platform, used for tender and toy launch and retrieval, but when at anchor, it transforms into a sprawling beach club deck. The main deck aft serves as the activity center, with a strong emphasis on diving operations. Here, guests have access to a fully equipped dive store and an 8-seater dining table.
Slightly forward, you enter the main deck saloon via double stacker sliding doors. A large family-style buffet sits to starboard and C lounge seating to port with an expansive luxury 12-seater dining table stretching through the center, conveniently supported by a bar and easy access storage room. Ten of the total 15 staterooms are located forward of the main saloon, accessed via two doors on either side of the bar. These are connected by an impressive centerline hallway and consist of four doubles with their own private balconies, two convertible twin cabins, and three triple cabins, which work perfectly for children or family groups. Additionally, this deck also hosts two independent day heads, a commercial laundry, a spiral staircase aft that leads to the upper deck and access to the hulls where the commercial galley, dry storage, and crew accommodation are located.
The upper deck is home to the remaining five staterooms. A sprawling owner's apartment featuring large picture windows for an abundance of natural light and a large ensuite with bathtub—the most impressive feature is the private owner's cinema room with state-of-the-art Dolby digital sound system, comfortable lounges, and an 85-inch flat screen smart TV. The final four staterooms on this deck consist of two convertible twins and two further doubles. Two extra day heads and abundant separate storage is conveniently situated throughout. This entire deck seamlessly connects via a centerline hallway which leads through to the pilot house forward. A private indoor entertainment saloon with multiple lounges, custom lighting, and state-of-the-art sound system with another 85-inch smart TV is located aft. This space is also supported by its own bar next to two stacker sliding doors that opens to a sea-view terrace. With four large six-seater dining tables and separate lounging areas, it is perfect for alfresco dining experiences. Both the main and upper decks feature generous wraparound decks, with 1.5-meter-wide walkways leading to the foredeck and Portuguese bridge—providing seamless guest access while allowing for efficient crew operations with minimal disruption.
The sky deck is arguably the most impressive space onboard, featuring multiple bars and lounging areas, a dedicated private spa retreat, and a six-person Jacuzzi with panoramic ocean views with a stylish glass sunroof providing shelter from the elements, ensuring comfortable relaxation experiences in any conditions.
At the heart of Capricornus lies everything needed to ensure smooth, safe, and sturdy operation. Her commercially equipped pilot house is commanded by state-of-the-art navigational electronics all class-approved for ECDIS operation. Off to the starboard side is a well-appointed master's cabin for easy access to the bridge at all times.
Powered by twin MTU M84 engines, each delivering 1086hp, she allows for a comfortable cruising speed of 10 knots and a maximum speed of 15 knots. In her current configuration, she holds 28,000 litres of diesel. At 10 knots, Capricornus delivers an impressive 2,000 nm range. When extended off-grid cruising is required, dialing her back to an economical cruise of 8 knots will see an impressive 3,000 miles pass under her keel—perfect for the adventurous style of yachting Capricornus is built for.
Her power management has been designed for redundancy and continuous running in mind. She is equipped with two large Ouma 125-kilowatt silent diesel generators. Just one of the 125kw generators can run the entire vessel and her systems at only 75% load, with a fuel consumption of around 400-500 per day ensuring uninterrupted onboard operations when maintenance is taking place. She is also additionally equipped with a 64-kilowatt backup generator offering plenty of redundancy.
Another staggering feature of Capricornus is her unmatched water capacity of 58,000 liters. This is coupled with her ability to produce 30,000 liters of fresh water per day with two OSMOSEA Mega 600 watermakers.
Capricornus isn't just for luxury escape—she is much more than that. She is a floating expedition center. For dive enthusiasts, she features a professional-grade dive station. For watersports and exploration, she carries multiple tenders and a full selection of paddleboards, snorkelling, fishing, and spearfishing equipment, ensuring there is never a dull moment onboard.
Capricornus represents a magnitude of exceptional ownership opportunities. Whether as a fully operational passenger vessel continuing to run as a high-capacity, BV-passenger-classed commercial ship; a high-end charter operation with accommodations for 36 guests ideal for luxury liveaboard dive expeditions or discovery adventure cruises; or a private superyacht conversion with BV Yacht Class conversion available, offering flexibility to become a custom, private long-range explorer yacht.
Capricornus is more than a yacht, more than just an adventure boat. She is a vision of what life at sea can be—a world where adventure meets elegance and where performance meets peace.
