About this vessel
CASSIOPEIA is an all welded steel hull construction with aluminum pilothouse, twin screw, diesel powered, raised foredeck, pilothouse expedition motor yacht. The vessel features a displacement hull with raked stem, tri-keel design with chine bottom and square stern with integral swim platform. Built at Williams Boat Works in Coden, Alabama, CASSIOPEIA is utilized as a cruising yacht for recreational purposes.
The yacht is equipped with three transverse watertight bulkheads creating compartments from bow to stern: the bow collision compartment and chain locker, followed by a compartment aft housing crew quarters, water closets, master stateroom and mechanical room. Fuel is stored in six welded steel tanks with a reported total capacity of 3,000 gallons, integral with the hull and fitted with suitable stainless steel fill pipes, valves and vent checks.
The electrical system operates on 12VDC and 120/240 VAC with overload protection provided by circuit breakers in well-labeled Square D manufactured panel boards throughout the vessel. 12VDC battery banks are housed in poly boxes with covers in the engine room with adjacent Blue Sea Systems battery switches. The pilothouse windows are fitted with reflective panels and deckhouse windows fitted with suitable shades.
