SOMERSET, Contract #442, stands as one of the final and most desirable Trumpy's ever built. Originally commissioned by textile magnate Gerrish Milliken, Jr. and launched as SPINDLE, she later became SOMERSET—a name carried through to her third and current owner. In 2012–2013 she underwent a comprehensive, keel-up restoration that brought her to modern standards while preserving her classic Trumpy elegance. The refit included a new bottom, keel frames and floors, fully rebuilt engines, new generators, tanks, plumbing, wiring, and electrical systems, along with an all-new interior, wall coverings, and paint.
SOMERSET showcases the craftsmanship, grace, and prestige that define the Trumpy legacy. She features a Flush Deck layout with crew accommodations forward, followed by a galley to port and dinette to starboard. Her saloon is finished in beautifully warm and well-patinated butternut with a sofa to starboard, a centerline love seat, and an easy chair to port, providing comfortable seating for six. Twin companionways aft provide access both down to the two guest cabins and up to the wheelhouse, as well as to the expansive 120-square-foot enclosed aft deck.
The vessel is turnkey, exceptionally maintained, and presents with no known deficiencies—ready for her next owner to enjoy immediately. Her current owner has been intimately involved with the yacht since the 2013–2014 refit, having overseen all aspects of the yacht's maintenance, crewing, and operation. She is structurally sound with updated systems and a level of consistent care and maintenance that will allow her next owner to cruise immediately.
