The Californian 48 Motor Yacht is well-known for its quality construction, well-executed interiors and better-than-average finish featuring teak woodwork. The three stateroom, three head layouts along with large aft deck (hard enclosed) and user-friendly galley, make this vessel a great live-aboard or cruising yacht.
This Californian is suffering from recent neglect. She is complete and intact. The seller started a refit but wasn't able to finish after Covid. The boat has been sitting on land in mid-refit since.
There are new electronics that have not been installed. He was prepping to refinish the interior but didn't get started. It will now need extensive exterior cleaning, full interior refit, and general services from sitting. Many of the windows have leaks and there is water staining and wood rot. One engine was being serviced when work stopped. Both engines were fully functional with recent rebuilds prior to haul for the refit.
This yacht is worth the effort to restore and will be a great liveaboard/cruiser for a handy boater.
