About this vessel
Summer Song was built at the Derecktor Yard in New York under the supervision of Mr. Robert Derecktor. She is a comfortable ride, quiet and fast. She underwent a stem-to-stern refit in 2007 at a cost of over $4 million at Bradford Marine in Florida. All records relating to this are on board. She is equipped with numerous redundant systems to ensure continued enjoyment. Currently cruising the Chesapeake Bay with winters in the Carolinas.
During the refit, most of the major systems were replaced, including main engines, gensets, electronics suite, fuel manifold, wiring, air conditioning system, interior decking and carpet, galley range and refrigerator, and hot water tanks.
Major works under current ownership since 2017 include all exterior paint, cutlass bearings replacement, and shafts and props removal, balancing, and reinstallation in 2023. Recent 2024 and 2025 enhancements include new starboard generator, Viking life raft, new ACR EPIRB, salon air handler, fresh bottom paint, new anodes, new shaft seals, new stabilizer seals, new bilge pump, engine alignment, and new main engine start batteries.
There are three access points onto the vessel: port and starboard midship, or aft via the cockpit. Upon entry you enter the comfortable upper salon and well appointed and functional pilot house. To the right of the helm and down a few steps is the opulent lower salon with couch and chairs to starboard and a single chair to port. Moving forward you enter the port dinette and starboard galley. Further forward are additional guest and crew quarters with over and under berths, ensuite head with stand-up shower, hanging closet, and multiple storage drawers for clothing and extra bedding.
Aft of the lower salon is a twin guest cabin to port with hanging closet and eight drawers under the berths. To starboard, across the companionway, is the guest and day head with stand-up shower. Further aft is the master stateroom with queen centerline berth, his and her hanging closets, numerous dresser drawers around the perimeter and under the berth, and an ensuite head with shower.
The Engine Room is easily accessed from aft of the galley and down three steps. All systems are well maintained and readily accessible.
