About this vessel
The 490 SunRunner is a versatile runabout in Horizon’s Hydro Lift pressed aluminium range, designed to deliver stable, efficient performance for family cruising, fishing and water sports. Its wide beam, Hydrolift hull with reverse chines and FastBack MKII transom create a smooth, predictable ride with excellent stability at rest.
Built on 3.0mm pressed bottom and 3.0mm smooth side sheets, the 490 SunRunner offers a durable platform with fully welded extruded side decks and underfloor flotation for added security. A raised front deck with walk-through opening hatch, spacious cockpit and generous storage under the consoles make it practical for a wide variety of on-water activities.
The layout features raised sports consoles for driver and passenger, pedestal-mounted deluxe seats, and an upholstered folding rear lounge with backrest to maximise comfort and usable deck space. With an 80 litre underfloor fuel tank, RAILBLAZA TracLoader coaming, side pockets, rod holders and battery compartment, the 490 SunRunner is well set up for day fishing as well as general boating with family and friends.
- Hull and construction: 3mm pressed bottom sheets, 3mm smooth side sheets, Hydrolift hull with reverse chines, external keel, Fast Back Transom MKII with boarding steps, extruded side decks fully welded.
- Deck and layout: Raised front deck with centre walk-through opening hatch, curved windscreen with opening to anchor well, windscreen grab rail, fully carpeted floor, forward storage under consoles, side and rear rails, side pockets, centre rear battery compartment.
- Helm and controls: Raised driver sports console with Dometic Seastar Extreme steering and Gussi steering wheel, raised passenger sports console with glove box/storage.
- Comfort and seating: Pedestal mounted DLX seats x 2, upholstered folding rear lounge and backrest, SeaDek non-slip transom pads.
- Fishing and utility: Plastic rod holders x 4, transducer bracket, bilge pump bracket, underfloor flotation, RAILBLAZA TracLoader coaming, accessory kit including wiring harness, navigation lights and bilge pump.
- Hardware and fittings: Anchor well with welded cleat, welded cleats on transom x 2, low profile split bow rails with bowsprit, double bow eye, screw-in bungs, drink holders, Australian Builders Plate and Captains Pack.
- Finish: Painted white inside and out with two-colour decals.
With recommended power up to 60hp and a maximum of 90hp, the 490 SunRunner is well suited to everything from estuary fishing and lake cruising to tow sports, providing an all-round family-friendly runabout in a compact, easy-to-handle package.
