The Northerner GRIDcore range from Horizon Boats delivers a versatile line-up of serious sportfishing plate boats built to handle northern conditions while still catering for relaxed family days on the water. Spanning five hull sizes from 4.15 to 6.40 metres overall, each Northerner combines a smooth-riding GRIDcore hull with a wide beam, raised front casting deck and thoughtful deck layout aimed at putting more fish on the table.
Constructed from high-tensile marine-grade aluminium with fully welded bulkheads and frame GRID, the Northerner series is designed for strength, durability and long-term reliability. Standard features across the range include a full-height transom with twin boarding platforms, walk-through transom door, long-range underfloor fuel tank, underfloor foam flotation to Australian Standards, hydraulic steering, sports side console, pedestal-mounted deluxe helm seats and RAILBLAZA TracLoader coaming. Generous storage, large side pockets, multiple rod holders and a heavy-duty dive ladder make these boats equally at home on diving missions, family cruising or dedicated lure casting sessions.
The range covers recommended outboard power from 80hp through to 150hp, with maximum ratings from 115hp up to 200hp and passenger capacities from five to seven people depending on the model. Each hull is finished with painted interior and exterior, custom decals and practical appointments such as heavy-duty bow sprit with double rollers, welded alloy cleats, large aluminium anchor well and Seadek on the side decks. Factory options, including 5mm bottom plating, Lenco trim tabs, fully welded self-draining checkerplate floor, ski pole, bait board with ski pole mount and plumbed live bait tank, allow every Northerner GRIDcore to be tailored to specific fishing and family requirements.
