The Italia Yachts 9.98 is a fast, responsive yacht that remains easy to handle. Designed for top racing performance, it maintains perfect balance even in light winds, making it ideal for both competitive sailing and sporty cruising.
Its hull is the result of advanced hydrodynamic analysis, offering exceptional symmetry, stability, and efficiency both upwind and downwind.
Comfort and Functionality
Twin wheels, an integrated bowsprit, and teak in the cockpit combine elegance and practicality.
With two cabins, an aft bathroom, a galley, and a navigation area, the IY 9.98 offers a refined yet practical layout. Lightweight removable elements help optimize displacement for racing.
Construction and Details
The hull and deck are built using a fiberglass sandwich with bi-axial and unidirectional fabrics, vinylester resin, and carbon reinforcements - ensuring lightness and structural strength.
The highest expression of hydrodynamic research, enhanced by that touch of magic which transforms a known combination of elements (foils, surfaces, weight distribution, etc.) into a unique – and above all, winning – configuration. No hull windows are provided, in order to further improve overall hull stiffness and reduce structural weight.
In carbon, naturally – perfectly balanced between minimal weight and maximum strength to accommodate any type of headsail.

Every detail is designed to win: sails, standing and running rigging, and fine-tuning systems represent the very best on the market – and if something doesn't exist, it's custom-built in our yard under guidance from our race team.
