Now that we’ve built two Monhegan 42 motor yachts, a flybridge cruiser and a cruiser model, we’ve increased efficiency and our crews are eager to keep going with this popular semi-custom line. With the molds in place, the incredible performance of C. Raymond Hunt’s deep “V” hull shape can easily be adjusted to two additional styles while still promising a quick build time and reliable cost estimate.
For smaller excursions, the Open Model will deliver the same confidence-inspiring ride, but in a more airy package. The Extended Cruiser model offers more dinghy storage, tankage, and a single fuel-efficient engine — all benefits when you’re planning to go the distance on your Lyman-Morse yacht.
No matter which Monhegan 42 model you choose, the build quality is the same as on every Lyman-Morse yacht: top-notch. Each of these yachts utilizes the advanced SCRIMP infusion process and the hull is E-glass infused with resin. The boat is lighter than similar production-run boats, resulting in good fuel economy. Hamilton Jet drives open up shallower waters and won’t snag lobster pots, while standard shaft drives reduce costs.
Team Lyman-Morse is pleased to be teaming up again with one of our most successful design partners – C. Raymond Hunt Associates. Our latest collaboration is the Monhegan 42. This new design, our 18th with the venerable firm, is available in four configurations – Flybridge, Cruiser, Extended Cruiser and Open – and with jet or traditional drives.
