The Sanlorenzo 86 is a luxury motor yacht built by the Sanlorenzo Ameglia Shipyard with exterior design by Officina Italiana and interior design by Sanlorenzo. The vessel is constructed from composite materials with a hull built in sandwich laminate using closed-cell PVC core, appropriately spaced transverse frames, and longitudinal girders. Two watertight bulkheads divide the engine room from the accommodation area and separate the bow area from accommodations and technical storage.
The yacht features a well-laid-out accommodation plan with 4 ensuite staterooms for up to 8 guests and 2 crew cabins forward. The spacious salon is combined with a dining area and wet bar. A large fully-equipped bridge deck offers an abundance of seating. The main deck is covered in high-quality teak planks 12mm thick, with teak grating on the swimming platform and steps for drainage.
The hull bottom is built in single skin of varying thicknesses, with sides in sandwich construction in compliance with CE regulations. The structure is of longitudinal type with girders and transversal bulkheads as main structural elements. Watertight hatches are mounted in the way of the engine room to allow assembly and disassembly of main machinery. Special reinforcements are placed near all maneuvering devices and main stressed areas.
Weathertight side doors are built in aluminum and GRP with hand wheel closing systems and stainless steel hinges. Weathertight deck hatches are made of aluminum or reinforced polymer and covered in teak or steel with tempered glass. Portholes are made of stainless steel AISI 316 with tempered glass. Windows are flush-mounted crystal panels designed to CE Rule requirements, with the wheelhouse windows fitted with windscreen wipers and the fly bridge windscreen framed in stainless steel.
All tanks on board are structural type, integrated into the hull to minimize occupied space. The main fuel tanks are laid transversally in front of the engine room, while fresh, grey, and black water tanks are laminated on the keel. The hull receives anti-fouling paint treatment.
Comprehensive insulation is provided throughout the vessel to guarantee maximum comfort and safety. The engine room is acoustically and thermally insulated from accommodation areas with thermal insulation sandwich fixed by needles and finished with steel plates on aluminum grid supports. A floating bulkhead on viscous-elastic elements separates crew quarters from guest cabins. Extraction and ventilation trunks, gas exhaust piping, and cabin bulkheads all feature thermal insulation sandwich construction. The propulsion system features two MTU 12V 2000 M96L diesel engines with ZF 3055V gearboxes and propellers in NiBrAl alloy. The shafts are made of Aquamet 17 and supported on bronze brackets with mechanical seals. The rudders are in AISI 316 stainless steel.
The vessel is equipped with a steer-by-wire system using CANbus signal transmission and linear actuators, as well as hydraulic bow and stern thrusters. Zero-speed electric fin stabilizers operate both at anchor and underway. Hydraulic trim tabs are installed on the stern transom in stainless steel.
The electrical system operates at 115V AC single phase 60Hz for main power circuits and 24V DC for small power circuits, visual signals, emergency lighting, electronics, and communication systems. The grounding system consists of copper bands throughout the yacht connected to aft zinc anodes for metallic components. Two Kohler 32kW generators provide power and are mounted on silent blocks with soundproof casing. Two 230V 63A shore power connections are provided. Service, starting, and specialty batteries support various systems throughout the vessel.
Navigation electronics include a Garmin Diamond package with integrated dashboard system and Atmosphere package. The wheelhouse control station features two 12" multi-function displays, autopilot, VHF, AIS, and a rudder angle indicator. The fly bridge is similarly equipped with a 12" multi-function display, autopilot, VHF, and navigation indicators. A 48" to 72 nautical mile radar open array antenna is mounted on the roll bar along with GPS, VHF, and AIS antennas, plus a wind transducer.
The audio and video system includes a centralized antenna system with a 40" LED TV and HI/FI system with multimedia capability in the saloon, 32" LED TVs in the owner's and VIP cabins, compact stereo systems in guest cabins and crew quarters, and marine stereo on the fly deck and wheelhouse. The saloon system connects to aft cockpit speakers.
The galley is equipped with Miele cooktop, oven, dishwasher, and ventilation fan, GE microwave with integrated hood, Asko washing machine and dryer, and Subzero refrigeration in the salon. Additional refrigeration includes a salon bar Subzero with 2 drawers, an Indel Webasto clear-cube ice maker, and a Frigonautica flybridge refrigerator.
Exterior options available include additional stainless steel handrails, hard top with electric opening roof in bicolor, column shower on flybridge, teak floor on fly bridge, underwater lights, dark fixed skylights, hard top painting, bow and flybridge sun awnings with stainless steel poles, electric up-down tables with teak tops in the aft cockpit, and a custom bar cabinet on the flybridge with Corian glacier white top and teak doors with TV lifting system. Interior options feature upgraded furnishings and décor including wood ceilings throughout, mirror cabinet doors, Italian marbles, FLOS lights, Flexform poufs, custom Italian crafted bed linens and towels, and cutlery and glassware for 12 people.
