The boat features a walk-in engine room accessible from a door next to the nav station, not through the shower like some Tayanas. The Northern Lights 8 KW Generator is housed in a sound shield with a work bench built around it, and there is a double size tool chest to port with additional storage cabinets above. Refrigerator compressor, generator, electric winch controls, centerboard controls, air horn compressor, Racor filters—everything is right here with easy access.
With the centerboard up, the draft of 5'6" allows for anchoring in shallow reef areas while the 10' draft in the down position makes going to windward excellent. The beam is 16' with 72' vertical clearance.
A full set of manuals is available for just about every detail of this boat. The teak decks are in very, very good condition, never been sanded, and all caulk has been replaced continuously on an as-needed basis, which has kept this deck in prime condition throughout its life with many years remaining and no leaks.
