MI ALMA is a beautifully maintained 2004 58' West Bay SonShip Motor Yacht, with a factory hard-top, built in the Dutch tradition of handcrafted quality and timeless design. Her warm interior showcases satin-finished American cherry joinery, while a thoughtfully executed layout supports both elegant entertaining and extended cruising.
Powered by upgraded 825 HP MTU Series 60 engines, with electronic controls, she delivers confident performance with refined handling. A full-beam salon, raised galley and pilothouse "great room" configuration and three-stateroom layout, anchored by a full-beam amidships primary suite, make MI ALMA an exceptional Pacific Northwest cruising platform.
West SonShips are built to the highest standards, using state-of-the-art methods including fiberglass infusion, vacuum bag technology, sound vibration reduction and all with 316L Stainless Steel, frameless windows.
The full-beam salon is accessed through stainless steel and glass watertight double doors from the teak aft deck. Expansive frameless windows provide abundant natural light while maintaining a warm, intimate feel. With the aft doors open, the salon and cockpit merge into one seamless entertaining space.
Main Salon features include custom cherry high-low expandable dining table, custom L-shaped sofa (new 2022), high-end laminate wood flooring, designer bound-edge carpet (new 2022), 42" TV on retractable lift, U-Line ice maker, Hunter Douglas blinds with fabric-covered lambrequins, Phantom screen aft doors, dedicated air conditioning controls, and custom cherry-trimmed headliner and soffit lighting.
Forward of the salon, the open galley integrates naturally into the living area. Quarter-sawn American cherry cabinetry, polished granite countertops with stainless fiddles, and quality stainless appliances reflect refined aesthetics and offshore practicality. The U-shaped layout ensures secure functionality underway.
The raised pilothouse serves as both command center and social space, with direct side deck access through port and starboard doors with retractable Phantom screens. Features include custom Stidd helm chair (recovered in 2022), Yacht Controller remote docking system, Whirlpool stainless steel refrigerator with ice maker, 4-burner cooktop (new in 2019), microwave/convection oven, Miele dishwasher, Broan trash compactor, stainless steel double sink with disposal, raised leather settee with granite dining table (new leather and designer fabric 2022), Hunter Douglas 2" blinds in galley/pilothouse, electric heat, and circular handcrafted cherry staircase to flybridge.
Primary Suite - Full Beam Amidships
Positioned for optimal stability and privacy, the full-beam primary suite spans the yacht's width. It features a queen berth with pillow-top mattress (new mattress 2019), cedar-lined hanging lockers, abundant drawer storage, rope accent lighting, ensuite head with generous shower, in-suite washer and dryer, Simrad multifunction display, VacuFlush shut off for nighttime, flatscreen TV, and electric heat.
VIP Stateroom - Forward
The VIP stateroom features a queen island berth with under-bed storage, cedar-lined locker, overhead hatch with screen, ensuite access, flatscreen TV, and electric heat.
Guest Stateroom
The guest stateroom offers over/under berths, cedar-lined locker, and is ideal for guests or crew.
The enclosed flybridge offers a bright, protected upper helm and lounge area beneath a factory hardtop with four-sided enclosure (new front enclosure 2020). Features include wrap-around Sunbrella seating, fixed dining table, complete upper helm station, 2 touch screens (2021), AB 12' tender with 40 hp Yamaha, and Steelhead 1500 lb. hydraulic davit.
The teak-laid cockpit sole and teak swim platform feature stainless boarding rails. Integrated transom storage includes fish cleaning table, bait tank, and gasoline storage tank. The layout enhances both entertaining versatility and serious fishing capability. Additional features include 2 Miele BBQs, fish finder, life raft (6 valise), 2 12 volt downrigger plugs, and extra cleats.
Dual-station navigation provides confident coastal and offshore capability, with three 17" Furuno NavNet displays (radar/chart/depth) (new 2021), Furuno depth sounder, independent GPS, Simrad/Robertson autopilot, wind instrumentation, log and speed display, VHF radio, integrated camera system, and electronic engine monitoring displays.
Twin MTU Series 60 diesel engines deliver 825 HP each at 2300 RPM, with 6-cylinder, turbocharged, freshwater-cooled design and three-station electronic controls. Twin Disc M-65114A transmissions provide 2.50:1 ratio. Stabilization and maneuvering systems include Wesmar hydraulic stabilizers, Wesmar hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, Seastar hydraulic steering, and Yacht Controller remote docking.
The fuel system comprises twin 500-gallon aluminum tanks with manifolded fuel system, neoprene fuel lines, and primary/secondary filtration. Oil service utilizes an Oil Change-R 950G centralized servicing system for engines, transmissions, and generator.
Power generation is provided by twin Northern Lights 12kW generators (2,225 / 2,890 hours) with dual 120/240V shore power inputs, West Bay Yacht O'matic shore power switching, Charles 50-amp ISO Boost, Beaver 15K VA transformer, Magnum inverter/charger, Xantrex inverter, Magnasine and Newmar battery chargers, 12V & 24V DC distribution, comprehensive battery package (including new start batteries 2024), and Electro Guard 710-25 cathodic protection.
Climate and water systems include Cruise Air reverse-cycle heat & A/C (4 zones), Espar diesel heating system, US Watermaker, Mach 5 freshwater pump, Rule 2000 bilge pumps, and high water alarm. Additional equipment includes KVH Sat TV, Starlink Internet, engine room and aft deck cameras, Glendinning Cable master, and extensive spare parts inventory.
MI ALMA is in winter storage in Anacortes, WA and is in the water only 3 months a year. The dry storage may be transferable. She was boat house kept by her previous owners.
Noteworthy improvements in 2025 include complete engine and generator service, new 30-gallon hot water tank, heat exchanger serviced and hoses renewed, new lazarette bilge pump, starboard trim tab motor and relay replaced, HVAC system professionally serviced, Furuno electronics inspected and tested, and lazarette detailed and upgraded.
