Description
Capitalizing on 40 years of expertise, the First 53 is the latest member of the First range, launched by BENETEAU in 1977. Designed for high-performance cruising, regattas, and expert sailors, this "Luxury Performance" sailing yacht offers a well-balanced hull and helm providing unique sensations. The deck plan allows easy flow, and the modern marine interior features white lacquered bulkheads and moulded wood accents, marking a renewal of the First generation sailing yachts.
The First 53 blends classic and modern lines, with a straight slender bow giving ample forward space and a 5-metre beam further aft. It stands out for its sturdy seaworthy appearance, featuring a cockpit designed to allow unobstructed forward movement and easy maneuvering from twin helm stations. The flush deck, low coachroof, and sleek look are complemented by high-quality mast, top-end deck gear, and a powerful sail plan manageable by a shorthanded crew.
Inside, moulded wood contrasts with a modern minimalist decor of lacquered white bulkheads and teak sole, with ample storage and practical amenities including a separate lounge/relaxation area and galley space. The accommodation includes three double cabins and two heads. The interior is bright, well-ventilated, and seamlessly connects with the exterior through an intuitive companionway.
The First 53 is designed to provide thrills at the helm with a focus on optimized weight and balance during sailing. Key features include a centre of buoyancy aligned with the centre of effort, a straight bow for spaciousness, maximum beam aft, draft options of 2.5 m or 3 m with lead bulb, and twin rudders for responsive hull control. This yacht excels in fast, luxurious cruising and competitive sailing performance.
The cockpit layout is optimized for easy movement and maneuvers, with winch placement near twin helm stations, a divided cockpit space for handling and relaxation, and a lifting transom transforming into a swim platform with a tender garage storing a 2.40 m tender.
The First 53 is also a connected boat, compatible with the mobile application Seanapps for monitoring boat systems, planning routes, and checking sailing status from a smartphone.
