Description
The 851 Gen2 Hardtop is McLay’s flagship cruiser hardtop, an 8.5 m (8.8 m overall) vessel designed for extended offshore and overnight adventures. With a beam of 2.75 m and substantial hull weight, it is laid out to sleep up to four people comfortably and can still be transported on a suitably rated trailer.
The 851 Gen2 offers a large wheelhouse, extended cabin, significant fuel capacity and a comprehensive standard specification. It is optimised for serious fishing and multi-day cruising, with options to tailor the layout and equipment to individual requirements.
Key features & construction- 4 mm marine-grade alloy sides and tops with 6 mm plate bottom chines.
- Welded 4 mm tread plate floor with underfloor buoyancy.
- 300 L underfloor fuel tank with sender.
- Auxiliary outboard bracket (if required) and full-length keel protection strip.
- Extended wheelhouse (+900 mm) and wheelhouse bulkheads with lined bifold lockable door and door seat.
- Bow sprit with rope guides, cabin handrails, hatch with Perspex window, shelves and fully lined cabin.
- Six welded alloy rod holders plus 8‑rod hardtop rocket launcher, live bait tank with window and pump, and rear cage with twin ladders.
- Hydraulic steering, sliding wheelhouse and bulkhead windows, cabin windows and curved safety glass front screen.
- Storage box in cockpit, large transom storage, lower racks and side rod-storage.
- Two swivel deluxe bolster helm seats on sliders/pedestals, padded backrests and squabs with infill to create a double berth.
- Walk-through transoms (x2), Portofino transom, twin platforms with rails and ladders.
- Full bow rail, dash, roof and deck handrails.
- Electrical harness, Fusion stereo with four speakers and aerial.
- VHF and aerial, dual 12 V/USB power socket.
- 2000 GPH bilge pump, cabin lights (x2), deck light and wheelhouse lights (x2).
- Navigation and anchor lights, twin windscreen wipers and deck wash pump.
- Sav drum anchor winch with rope, chain, anchor and Electronic Fast Fall system.
- Zipwake automatic trim tabs.
