Description
The Sportsman 651 Hardtop is based on a proven hull previously used for the 651 CrossXover, refined into a dedicated fishing-focused hardtop. It offers more deck area for fishing than any other McLay model of similar length, while providing a very competitive package price. It targets serious anglers and family boaters requiring a spacious, offshore-capable 6.5 m hardtop.
The design emphasises interior volume, cockpit space and standard equipment, with substantial plate construction, generous underfloor fuel and a comprehensive electrical fit-out. The approximate hull weight includes motor and tandem trailer.
Key features & construction- 4 mm marine-grade alloy sides and tops with 5 mm plate bottom chines.
- Welded 4 mm tread plate floor with underfloor buoyancy.
- 175 L underfloor fuel tank with sender.
- Bow keel wear strip, bow sprit with rope guides and full bow rail.
- Cabin hatch, shelves and padded cabin squabs with storage beneath.
- Lined dash and half deck for a soft-touch finish.
- Four welded alloy rod holders plus 8‑rod hardtop rocket launcher, lower storage racks and live bait tank with Perspex window.
- Hydraulic steering and safety glass front windscreen with Perspex side wheelhouse windows.
- Walk-through Portofino transom with twin platforms, rails and ladder.
- Swivel pedestal seats including queen seat with storage, large transom storage, self-draining anchor locker.
- Mercury 150XL EFI four-stroke outboard, fitted and tank tested.
- Tandem-axle trailer with hydraulic brakes.
- VHF and aerial, Lowrance Hook2‑9" GPS/Sounder.
- Battery and isolator, 2000 GPH bilge pump, navigation and anchor lights.
- Nyalic protective coating inside and out.
